Many people prepare for retirement.

They have a vision of the day when they can relax and live out their ”Golden Years.”

So they plan, save, make provision, and they lay up treasure for their kingdoms of this world.

Although WE SHOULD plan for retirement, that day is not guaranteed, yet God tells us of a day that is:

“Each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27)

Who prepares for that?

Who has a vision of the day when they will stand before God to give an account?

Who plans?

Who makes provision?

Who stores up treasure in the Kingdom of Heaven?

The sad truth is that not many people do.

And because we do not know when this day will come; the day when we step out of time and into eternity— Jesus graciously warns us:

”Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” ( Matt 24:42-44)

So please realize that you are not promised tomorrow and make yourself ready.

Seek a vision of eternity.

Prepare to stand before God to give an account.

And how does God’s word instruct you to prepare for that?

Repent of your sin, turn to God, and trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. ( Mark 1:5, Acts 2:38 )
