“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” – Matthew 1:21
Just as it was in the story of the Protocol Son, there is a moment in each person’s life when the mercy and compassion of Christ comes to you where you are and brings you to your senses — He shows you the truth about yourself— that you have followed the pride of your own heart and refused to follow Christ.
In that moment, you must decide—
Will I remain here in a foreign land, far from my fathers house, face down in the filth of my pride, or will I get up and go back home in humility with a broken and a contrite heart and say, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I plead for your forgiveness. Have mercy on me, a sinner.”
Please, understand this:
Jesus Christ will come to you where you are, but he refuses to allow you to stay there, nor will he remain in sin with you— He says, “Come, follow Me.”
As you celebrate the birth of Christ this year, remember that Jesus didn’t come into the world to save you IN your sin, He came to save you FROM it.
