While the battle rages on for all people to be seen as equal in the eyes of society, may we rejoice in the fact that all are equal in the eyes of God— I cannot be better than you, and you cannot be better than me.

Why?

Because all have sinned.

There is no one righteous, not even one.

And because all have sinned AGAINST God — all are the enemies OF God.

But here is the hope:

While we slander our enemies on the internet, and slay them with stones in the street — we can be thankful that God is not like us.

Because just as God is wrath, He is also love. The Lord doesn’t look at us through a lens of prejudice or past hurts— He sees all people with eyes of compassion, mercy, and patience, wanting nothing more than to forgive our sin and have all people turn to Him.

So, even though all have sinned, at the same time— GOD. LOVES. ALL.

In fact, He loves all people so much, that even while we rage against Him, He gave His Son to save us from our sin so that it might not destroy us.

“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. “ ( Romans 5:8 )

“God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” ( John 3:16 )

Read that again and understand it.

God says, “While we were still sinners Jesus Christ died for our sin, and WHOVEVER believes in Him will not perish.”

Whoever.

That means anyone.

That means YOU.

All are equal in the eyes of God.

We all have the same opportunity to be accepted by Him.

How do I know this?

Because God says that He is no respecter of persons; He shows no favoritism— He doesn’t have one standard for me, and another for you.

So, when God judges each person at the end of time—neither privilege nor political affiliation will get you into the kingdom of Heaven, neither will a low social standing nor past crimes exclude you.

You won’t stand before Him as rich, poor, Republican, Democrat, Liberal or Conservative.

The color of your skin will not concern Him.

Being “American” will be of no benefit to you.

Despite popular opinion, He won’t even care if you called yourself “Christian.”

You will only stand before God as one who has repented from sin, or has not.

As one who has believed in His Son, or has not.

It is vitally important that you understand this.

Why?

Because if you do not repent you will perish. ( Luke 13:3 )

If you do not believe you will be condemned. ( John 3:18 )

This is the requirement for all people.

All have sinned, and all are called to repent and believe the gospel.

There are no exceptions.

For all are equal in the eyes of God.
