There was a recent season in my life when I was walking deep within the valley of the shadow of death.
My company shutdown unexpectedly and I found myself unemployed for almost a year; some family members became sick and passed away; my faith was being overtaken by frustration and I began to become hopeless.
Even still, as God does— at just the right time, He sent me this word on the radio one evening when I was driving home and at my lowest point:
“You know what I’ve noticed about God’s trials?
He hardly ever tells you “This is a trial and if you hold out 6 months, you’ll be through.”
Some of us get to 5 months and 29 days and we give up. We didn’t know we only had one more day.
Never give up. There is no precedent in the Bible for giving up. ( on God’s promises )
God determines how long the test will last, not we. Waiting is one of the tests to which God almost invariably subjects the servants He intends to use.” – Derek Prince
I share this with you, as God shared it with me, to encourage you.
Today may be dark.
There may be no end in sight— but God will not let go of the ones who trust in Him.
Even though your faith may be fleeting and all hope may seem lost—
Don’t Give Up!
God will lead you through the valley.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” – Psalm 23
