Pride is the sin which causes us to rebel against God’s commands.

It is the sin that cast Satan out of God’s Kingdom in heaven; it is sin that sent Adam and Eve packing from God’s Kingdom in Earth.

It is the sin that prompted the protocol to take his inheritance and flee to a foreign land far from the perceived constraints of his Father’s house.

But where did pursuing this path of pride lead him?

Devastation, famine, and death all around.

He spent all that he had taken, squandering his wealth on wild living— but then we see that once this happened… he remembered.

He remembered how his Father loved him and cared for him; how he was never in need of a thing. Then the protocol was ashamed for abandoning his Father— for breaking His heart— so, he went back.

He said to himself, “How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he got up and went to his father.”

It takes genuine humility to go back to the Father whom you have offended and ask for forgiveness.

But humility is all that God, your Father in Heaven, asks for.

He says repeatedly, “Return to Me, and I will return to you.”

So, please learn this lesson from the Parable of the Protocol:

When you return humbly to the Father, satisfied with being His servant, He will welcome you in as His Son.

For we read in Luke 15:

“…He said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

“But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.” – Luke 15:21-24
