The Gospel account of Matthew says that, “the blind and the lame came to Jesus at the temple, and he healed them.” – (Matthew 21:14)

We must understand this: God will not bless what we take credit for, nor will He fix that which we refuse to present to him as broken and beyond repair apart from his divine intervention.

Instead, The Lord tells us that He raises up the humble; He gives sight to the ones who acknowledge that they are blind to the truth; He heals the ones who come to Him and admit that they are sick with sin and cannot save themselves.

Therefore, let us heed the exhortation of James— “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” ( James 4:7-10)
