Many people plan for retirement.
They have a vision of the day when they can relax and live out their ”golden years.”
So, they save; they prepare; they make provision; they lay up treasure for their kingdoms of this world.
But who plans for their eternity?
Who has a vision of the day they will stand before God to give an account?
Who prepares; who makes provision; who stores up treasure in the Kingdom of Heaven?
Please understand that you are not promised tomorrow.
Your retirement, your 401K, your savings are not guaranteed— But your death is.
God tells you that it is appointed once for you to die…And then what?
Well, many think that’s it.
That you take a dirt nap; that you are worm food; that you cease to exist —
But God says that after you die you stand before the judgement. ( Hebrews 9:27 )
Are you prepared for that?
As we see with the latest disaster in Tennessee, which happened in the middle of the night while most were asleep— The end comes when you least expect it.
Just a few days ago I heard the news of a friend who passed away suddenly with no warning.
Here one second, gone the next.
Because we do not know when we will step out of time and in to eternity, Jesus warns:
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
Matthew 24:42-44
Be ready.
Seek a vision of eternity.
Prepare to stand before God to give an account—
Repent of your sin, turn to God and trust in Jesus Christ.
