Many seek after the treasures of this world with reckless abandon.

They deny themselves sleep, pleasure, food, drink; they sacrifice time with their family; they give all of themselves for their goal of success and prosperity, and they will not stop until they attain that which they desire.

That is exactly how God wants you to seek after Him.

In speaking of attaining the wisdom and the knowledge of The Lord, God’s word instructs that“…if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”

How badly do you want God?

Will you deny yourself sleep, food, drink, and pleasure; will you give all of yourself to the one goal of finding Him?

Zac Poonen, an evangelist and author based in Bangalore, India, said this:

“If you were walking in the grass at night and you lose a 5 cent coin, how long will you look for it? Would you spend the whole night looking for that cheap coin? …No.
But suppose that during the day you accidentally misplace $100,000 dollars somewhere… oh! you’d spend a long time looking for that.
How do you seek for God? Do you seek for Him as a 5 cent coin? You look for it a little while and if you find it, well and good, but if not…never mind, you have more important things to do.
Such people never find God.
God says, “You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.”

Make God, the goal of your life.

Seek Him with all that you have, and all that you are, and you will find Him.
