As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but favors the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. ~ James 4:6-7

Today, when you are cut off in traffic, when an employer, client or coworker’s words or actions upset you, when your neighbor, friend, spouse or children get on your nerves, when you feel taken for granted – anytime you are offended today by anything or anyone – that is pride rising up inside of you.

But remember, God opposes the proud.

Turn away from that spirit of anger and turn to Jesus Christ.

Ask Him for a humble spirit – that you would have the strength to be patient, compassionate, kind, selfless and not self-focused. 

He will do that for you.

For while God opposes the proud, He favors and gives grace to the humble.
