“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” ~ 1 John 5:14

Last night I heard a newscaster ask, “Can we stop the hate and violence?”

No. “We” can’t.

No weapon, no war, no protest, no law being passed or repealed, no statue going up or coming down, no politician, no philosopher, no preacher, and no religion will change the wickedness in the hearts of men and women.

Only God can transform a heart of stone into a heart of flesh.

Only God can do that.

“With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.“

Now, what can you and I do?

PRAY!

Pray that the Spirit of God draws the lost to Himself.

Pray that their eyes will be opened so that their sins will be revealed to them.

Pray that they will be cut to their hearts with the understanding that they have hurt God and man.

Pray that God gives them the grace to repent and believe in His Son Jesus Christ, who was sent here to save them from condemnation and eternity in hell.

Pray that they will be reborn of the Spirit – that all things will pass away and all things will become new.

Then, PRAY AGAIN!

PRAY that where there was once anger, there will be joy.

PRAY that where there was once resentment and judgment, there will be forgiveness and compassion.

PRAY that where there was once wrath, there will be mercy.

PRAY that where there was once pride, there will be humility.

And then, we must pray the same things for ourselves, because you and I are guilty as well.

“For all have sinned; there is no one righteous, not even one.”

No one can point the finger of condemnation at another without condemning themselves.

“for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things”

We are all in need of The Savior, The only way to God, The only way to heaven – Jesus Christ.

That is The only name that can save; The only name that can stop hate and violence in the hearts of mankind.

Pray that His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

God can do it!
